Just saw the pic of Gov. Schwarzenegar presenting family with the plate... It's a great symbol, ever so small, of the life that you gave for ME, US.. all of US... Thank you so much. May you be in the arms of God as I type. Much love from this Proud Mom of a USMC Recruit (grad. 1-7-11).

Just wanted you, Allie and the Anderson family know you are in my heart always but especially today. I know that I can't know or ease your pain but I hope that knowing that so many friends love and care about you helps get you through the day. Thank you so much for coming to the Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial. It was great to see you. I'll stop by and see Michael tonight. I tell him what a wonderful dad you are. Please give my best to Allie. She is a very special girl but you don't need me to tell you that. Love you, Pam Rogan

The "Studley Marine" I'll never get this date out of my head, Michael. Words can't do it justice, but the saying among Marines is that "if one Marine remembers you, you never die". I've seen you go through so much since I met you at a Marine's funeral 5 years ago. You have done the right thing by absorbing all the Marine "things". You probably know more about the Marine Corps than many Marines, and Mike Jr. would be proud of you and Angela. I regret so much that I couldn't meet him. I don't know if I ever told you, but that card you gave me with his photo on it has been on our Bulletin Board for almost three years. I put it up there so the thousands of people that visit us could see what Marines look like. In closing, I just want you to know how much I respect you for honoring Mike's memory. I can see how he would have turned out so well. Semper Fidelis Your pal, John Wintersteen (USMC)

Another year goes by, and the memory of you hasn't faded...nor will it ever. Allie I miss you too "little one" and your family so much. I remember the two of us laying on the hammock together during fireworks and I covered your little ears from the sound. Mike loved you so very much. I think of all of you often and hope you are all doing well. Life's journey sure is an eventful one isn't it? Love you all, and Mike Jr...love you...

Heard your voice on my old message machine... saved messages from Iraq and before you left... it's always so nice to hear your voice. I also found an old picture of you when we were in San Francisco, I took that shot of you as you were yelling at me because I couldn't read the map... omg that was so funny... glad I was able to have those good times to keep in my thoughts... you really are memorable. (:
