In honor of a damn good Marine I leave these words. "I will instill in my squad an unconquerable, aggressive spirit which will make them desire to destroy the enemy. I will ensure my Marines know and apply the basics - care and use of weapons and equipment, camouflage, fire and maneuver, cover and concealment, preparation of fighting positions, use of supporting arms, land navigation, discipline, hand to hand combat and other essentials! In short, my squad will know how to fight and win on any battlefield." Mission accomplished Marine. Gone from mother earth but never forgotten, your spirit shall live on for as long as our Corps. Walk with Chesty now, guard the gates of Heaven, welcome us home when we arrive. Semper FI my brother. Gunny Cole

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, that has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the community organizer, who has given us freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves under the flag, and whose coffin is drapped by the flag, who allows the protestors to burn the flag. Too many spoiled americans have forgotton, but the majority will never forget!
